How To Put On A
Condom
Use a NEW condom before
foreplay, before penis gets anywhere near any body opening and every
time you have sex (To avoid exposure to any body fluid that can carry
infection). NEVER RE-USE A CONDOM!
·
Check the expiration date on the outside of the
package.
·
Open the condom package at one corner, being careful
not to tear the condom…sharp fingernails or rough handling can damage the
latex.
·
Gently squeeze the bottom of the package; the condom
will slide up for easy removal.
·
Be sure the tip of the condom is pointing through the
correct side of the ring so it is possible to roll down.
*If uncircumcised, pull back the
foreskin before applying the condom.
·
Place the rolled condom on the head of the penis;
gently squeeze the tip of the condom, leaving half an inch of space to collect
the semen.
*The condom
must be placed on a penis that is both hard and erect.
·
Unroll the condom down the erect penis. The entire
length should be covered.
*At this point, you may add a water-based lubricant to the outside of
the condom if necessary.
·
After ejaculation (before the penis becomes soft),
hold the condom firmly at the base (ring) while pulling out so that no semen
spills out.
·
Remove the condom by gently pulling it off of the
penis, wrap it in a tissue and put it in the trash.
*If used properly,
latex condoms will help to reduce the risk of the transmission of HIV infection
(AIDS) and many other sexually transmitted diseases, including Chlamydia,
genital herpes, genital warts, gonorrhea, hepatitis B and syphilis.

Warnings
*Caution: Some condoms
contain natural rubber latex, which may cause allergic reactions in some
individuals.
·
If you are using a spermicidally lubricated product, it contains the spermicide Nonoxynol-9. Some users are sensitive or
allergic to spermicide or lubricants. If you or your
partner have had any reaction to latex rubber, spermicide
or lubricants, discontinue use of that product immediately.
·
Never let a latex condom come in contact with oil,
baby oil, lotions, Hand cream, Vaseline, mineral oil, vegetable oil, petroleum
jelly or any other oil based product. These products will destroy latex condoms
and may cause them to break, rip or tear. Only use Water-based lubricants such
as Climax, AstroGlide, ID Glide, or Water-based Wet
lubricant.
·
If using condoms while your partner is using vaginal
products for medical treatment, the condoms may become weakened or destroyed
and their effectiveness may be reduced.
·
Wash hands, penis and vagina before and after sex.
This will help reduce the possible spread of infection.
·
Keep unused condoms in a cool dry place away from
extreme heat, and sunlight.
